Merging two levels
Guys, I'm having some trouble here, and i feel i'm missing something. So sometimes i make my levels separately, and then later on Merge them in Unreal (As in i make one level, then add a second one both made in sketchup exported by playup, and then change between levels in the game.) Problem is, since most materials and meshes are called "PlayUpGrp sthsth" when i migrate my level to another project, I get name conflicts (for example a wall in first project is called "playupgrp023" and in the second project with the same name is .. say a teapot…

Not all DAE are converted to FBX
I used the Sketchup export plugin and it ran successfully. The dialogue at the end notified me that 2,952 items had been successfully exported. The ruby console and the log files confirmed that everything had been exported successfully. I then imported the FBX files into Unreal and ran the UE4 plugin and it notified me that I was missing an FBX file. After some examination I found I had 2,950 FBX files, and 2,952 DAE files - meaning two of my DAE files had not successfully converted to DAE.

5000 Dialogue boxes in UE4
I am working with some massive Sketchup files which export to over 2500 fbx files and 9000 components. I forgot to copy the FBX files into UE4 content browser and now either have to click through thousands and thousands of dialogue boxes or force quit Unreal. Neither of which is very practical for the end user.

XML not working regardless of what I do.
I have tried everything to get my XML file to work. I get the following message no matter what I do - combine meshes, don't combine meshes, export my SketchUp file as one, export my SketchUp file as separate pieces - see message below:
You are missing the asset called "OuterShell.fbx". Please ensure you have imported all of the FBX assets for this level from "D:/Users/cathb/Documents/LA0676/LA0676.InteriorsLayout1/" into the Content Browser directory "Contents/PlayUp/" before placing them in your level. For help, visit PlayUpTools.com.
I have no idea what is going on and I'm confused. I need to figure this out quickly…

Set up PlayUp for fbx but exporting dae
Currently trying to export to Unreal Engine and I'm following all the settings that PlayUp recommends and while ti worked yesterday it's now exporting dae files while also stating that it's making an fbx file. What on earth is going on?
I'm trying figure out how to work out how the program needs to work with the others that I use - Photoshop, Unreal, et al. If I can't in the next 28 days, then I'm going to have to look elsewhere out of sheer necessity - something I don't want to do when there is program apparently very able…

Texture export issues (bad paths given in .dae or.fbx files)
I use Win 10 64.
I both installed VC++ Redistributable (x86) and (x64) in order to making TextureConverter.exe working...even if, I have an error message in the bach cmd window :
TextureConverter.exe: UnableToOpenConfigureFile `magic.xml' @ warning/configure.c/GetConfigureOptions/708.Then, but I have 3 issues :
Issue 1 : Created .dae (and then also.fbx if created) files refer to a bad path for texturesIssue 2 : the value of the path may vary according the PlayUp preferences defined in Skechup
Example1 :
PlayUp preferences (for Unity) with "Asset Path" and "Custom Export Path" set to 2 different values :

Reimport doesnt work
When i reimport my models from sketchup (2016) to ue4 (4.14), the scale is messed up, and the placement of the models is forgotten. How do I reimport in order to keep the scale right, and the scene put together in the right way.
When I import the model for the first time, everything is just as it should be :-)1 vote -
Reimporting a mesh doesn't appear in Unreal
When I made some changes in my sketchup model, export to fbx meshes with playup tools. Try to reimport for example a changed window, popup shows up; "succesfully reimported" but the window won't update. Is this a bug or what is the best way to reimport changed fbx meshes?

Textures need to be Applied Manually in Unity
I have tried to import a model with the PlayUp plugin and the textures do not appear when level is imported. I can apply textures manually to the materials. The tutorials show textures already applied.
Am I missing something?1 vote -

PlayUp keeps exporting .dae instead .fbx
Sketchup 2016, newest Playup + plugin versions (I installed them just now for first time). UE4 4.12.0, selected ue4 + fbx in sketchup plugin settings, yet it keeps exporting to .dae format instead .fbx. Restarting sketchup doesn't help.

Play 2.1: multiple colorized materials with the same base texture image not exported correctly
1. Create TWO new materials. Use color sliders to assign the color red to one, blue to the other. Name each material after the color. Assign the same texture image (I used the SketchUV default texture "texture_grid.png") to each. Tick the "colorize" box.
http://i.imgur.com/XaxDTel.png2. Apply each material a box using triple click to apply to all surfaces.
http://i.imgur.com/2W0ddEY.png3. Export model to Unity using PlayUp tools 21.0
http://i.imgur.com/9cY6Bx9.png4. Unity materials folder contains one material named "texture_grid" colored blue. The red material has not been exported because PlayUp tries to name both of them after the texture file ("texture_grid"),…

Problem with Playup - Unreal
When exporting a grouped objects from sketchup playup, an fbx is generated. if we do not select "Combining Meshes" while importing the fbx into Unreal, the import will result in multiple small objects with different names, like Kitchen_mesh10, Kitchen_mesh11, Kitchen_mesh12.......etc. The xml file will not work because it will show an error saying "You are missing the asset called Kitchen_mesh.fbx. Please ensure that you have imported all of the fbx assets......."
However it works fine when "Combining Meshes", because it only generates a single Kitchen_mesh.fbx. But the whole point is we want to split the fbx into multiple pieces for…13 votes
